Encounters｜相逢

Encounters continues the artist’s exploration of inner landscapes, beginning with the open state of “encounters” and reflecting on how different forms of existence, experience, and perception move toward one another and, through their interaction, lead to a renewed understanding of the self.

“Encounters” does not refer exclusively to encounters between people. It may occur between the self and others, between the self and the world, or between different experiences and layers of consciousness within oneself. Each person encounters the world through the lens of their own experience, and what they perceive is often connected to something within themselves. Through repeated contact, proximity, and exchange with the outside world, one gradually pieces together an understanding of who they are.

The circles, light, and upward-reaching lines that appear throughout the series are recurring elements of the artist’s abstract visual language. The circle suggests gathering, cycles, and an inner core. The upward movement of light emerges from the artist’s perception of an “inner stirring”—a vital force that grows from within, gradually reveals itself, and seeks to move beyond its boundaries. Encounters therefore take on different forms across the works: convergence, emergence, penetration, or a slow and continuous process of overlapping.

Ultimately, the series returns to an open question: as we continually encounter the world and encounter ourselves, where is the “place of return” we are seeking? It may be a more integrated sense of self, or simply an inner state that emerges through a renewed understanding of oneself.

“相逢”并不只发生于人与人之间。它可以发生在自我与他者之间、自我与世界之间，也可以发生在自身不同的经验与意识层次之间。每个人都通过自身的经验去面对世界，而所感知到的事物往往也与自身内部的某些部分相连。在与外部世界不断接触、靠近与交流的过程中，人逐渐拼合出对“我是谁”的理解。

系列中反复出现的圆、光，以及向上延伸的线条，是艺术家抽象视觉语言中的持续性元素。圆指向聚合、循环与内在的核心。光向上的运动源于艺术家对一种“内在涌动”的感知——一种从内部生长、逐渐显现，并试图突破自身边界的生命力量。因此，“相逢”在不同作品中呈现出不同的形态：汇聚、浮现、穿透，或缓慢而持续的相互叠合。

最终，系列回到一个开放的问题：当我们不断与世界相逢，也不断与自己相逢，我们所寻找的那个“回返之处”究竟在哪里？它可能是一种更加完整的自我感，也可能只是一种在重新理解自身的过程中逐渐浮现的内在状态。
